Accreditation is the best way to show yourself and your clients that you are keeping up-to-date with, and not forgetting JP practice. Volunteers at any of our Service Desks must be accredited.
Your accreditation expiry date and details of training attended is held on the Royal Federation’s website. If you accreditation status is current, this will show a green tick beside your name when you do a Find A JP search for yourself on that website.
You will get a reminder from the Royal Federation when when your expiry is 3 months away. But this is the only reminder you will get, so don’t just ignore this because it is so fare in the future and then forget about it completely!
How do I know what my expiry date is?
To see your accreditation expiry date, you need to login to the Royal Federation website and scroll down on your Profile page. See instructions for logging in lower down this page.
How is the expiry date calculated?
To become accredited you have to complete two steps – (a) pass the accreditation exam and (b) record on the Royal Federation website the date when you attended an education session. Your accreditation will expire when either of these steps becomes older than two years.
How do I get Accredited?
To update your accreditation expiry date you will need to update whichever step is almost two years old. This will require you to either update your record of attendance at a recent education session or to pass the online test or to complete both steps if you completed both steps around the same time previously.
If you need to re-sit the test, you access this by clicking “Accreditation Exam” in the top black bar of the website home page. It is an open book test, so have your JP manual with you. You may also need to refer to the Justices Quarterly Education Pages on the Royal Federation website if you can’t find the answer in the manual.
If you update the date of your last education session, don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
What happens after I do the test?
After the test, you will be sent an email with your score and the questions you answered incorrectly. If you don’t pass the first time, after 48 hours you can be re-tested just on the questions you missed.
